The workshop takes place at the Institute of Mathematics which is located on the Campus Ulmenstraße, Ulmenstraße 69 (Building 3), 18057 Rostock.
How to Reach Rostock
Rostock is the largest city in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is very easy to reach both by public transport and by car. There is also a wide range of public transport options within the city.
Arrival by plane
There are two big airports only 3-4 train hours away from Rostock.
From both airports there are convenient train connections to Rostock via InterCity trains (IC or ICE) and regional trains (RE). See “arrival by train” below.
Rostock also has its own airport, but the connections are very limited.
Arrival by train
Rostock’s central station is located at Konrad-Adenauer-Platz and can be easily reached from multiple major cities in Germany and Europe. The german train company, Deutsche Bahn, usually offers journeys during all times of the day. A selected list of connections are as follows:

Arrival via Berlin:

The Institute of Mathematics can be reached via only one stop of the S-Bahn (S1) from Rostock Hbf in direction to Warnemünde. You need to leave at “Rostock Parkstraße”.
Arrival by car
Rostock is located at the Baltic Sea, just about 230km north of Berlin and 185km east of Hamburg.
It can be reached by car via several motorways (Autobahnen):
A 19: Berlin (A 10, A 24) - Wittstock - Rostock
A 20: Hamburg (A 1) - Lübeck - Rostock - Stettin (A 11)
and federal roads (Bundesstraßen) / European roads (Europastraße):
B 103: Plau - Güstrow - Rostock
B 105: Lübeck - Wismar - Rostock - Stralsund
B 110: Insel Usedom - Anklam - Demmin – Rostock
Travelling in Rostock
Within Rostock and its surroundings you can travel by bus and tram, which are run by Rostocker Straßenbahn AG (RSAG), or with the S-Bahn, which is run by the Deutsche Bahn. Tickets are available via the VVW-App by Verkehrsverbund Warnow, from ticket machines at most tram stations and from the bus drivers directly.
