Course Information

Summer School - Mathematics of Data Sciences and Digitisation

  • Teaching starts on September 14 at 9 am and ends on September 18 at 1 pm
  • The program is intense with lectures from 9am until 6pm including a one hour lunch break

Basic mathematical knowledge (as typically contained in the first two years studying math, science or engineering at university level) including analysis, linear algebra, ordinary differential equations, statistics and Matlab.

Approximately 90 hours in total, including work during the course period at the University of Rostock (lectures, exercises, discussions) as well as preparatory required reading before course start and performing follow-up course work.

All lectures will be given in English.

ECTS points: 3. To pass the course, active participation in all activities is required; this includes successful exercise work during the course.

Please note: Inform yourself at your institute or university whether you have to do anything in order for the ECTS points to be accepted to your course of study. For example, for students of the Institute of Mathematics at the University of Rostock, an additional informal application must be made to the examination chairman so that the ECTS points can be credited to the respective course of study.
